My work as a freelance writer is driven by an unbridled curiosity about the world and the never ending  pursuit of discovery and understanding.  Most of all I am passionate about listening to people's stories,  finding the extraordinary in the everyday, and relaying those stories with empathy and accuracy.

Through my writing on social justice, gender, foreign policy, culture, music, and art, I strive to challenge dominant narratives and uncover overlooked stories of resilience and creativity.

I'm currently based in East Africa, and my work has appeared in Al Jazeera, Thomson Reuters Foundation, El Pais, Atlas Obscura, Bandcamp, Songlines, New Internationalist, Positive News, Narratively, and Vinyl Factory among others.
